String theory is endowed with a rich symmetry structure. Target space duality (T-duality) and S-duality are two of their most important symmetries. T-duality is special due to the one-dimensional nature of the string. There are novel symmetries in string theory whose counterparts do not exist in relativistic Quantum Field Theories. The ODD story is interesting and fascinating which I shall narrate to non-string theorists.
