Coronal Heating in Solar Active Regions

Large scale solar coronal structures like active regions show prominent spatial and temporal characteristics, that have drawn considerable interests. Here the speaker will discuss the spectroscopic properties like density and differential emission measure of such active regions. She will focus on the variations of such plasma parameters over topologically different areas within active regions like hot core loops, comparatively cooler extended loop structures and in the diffused emission regions. This will provide a better insight in the coronal loop heating mechanisms involved and in framing realistic heating models.
