On the generation of large-scale magnetic field due to fluctuations in turbulent helicity

The origin of large-scale magnetic fields in the cosmic objects and the numerical simulations is challenging but poorly understood, especially in cases when the small scale turbulence is mirror-symmetric (i.e., non-helical). By considering fluctuations in turbulent helicity, with its mean value zero, we demonstrate that such zero-mean fluctuations, in conjunction with background shear flow, can give rise to the growth of large-scale magnetic field.
