Efficient and fast estimation of SI violation signal in CMB due to non-circular beam and complex scan

Approximate results based on semi-analytical methods often provides quick way of estimating effects along with taking care of time and resource constraints on big data. Unfortunately, methods and tools for the estimation of accurate early results are computationally very expensive. Deviations from circular-symmetry of instrumental beams along with complex scan strategy can give rise to measurable Statistical Isotropy (SI) violation in Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) experiments. Estimating this effect using extensive numerical simulations requires tens of thousands of CPU hours. We generate a semi-analytical framework which not only provides a quick way of estimating this signal, but also gives a detailed understanding of the effect by connecting the leading beam anisotropy components to a measurable BipoSH characterisation of SI violation. Our method can predict all the features introduced by a non-circular beam along with complex scan and thus reduces the need of computationally intensive simulations by substituting it with minute long calculations.
