In the recent past we have witnessed some exceptional developments in material science towards identifying new material systems for energy storage and transmission. In this colloquium we shall have a brief overview of such systems involving Superconducting, Thermoelectric, and Magneto-resisitive materials. Current challenges in solar photovoltaics will also be discussed. |
