Small Scale EUV and X-ray Transient Brightenings in the Solar Atmosphere

Diverse small scale dynamic features are omnipresent in the solar atmosphere. These phenomena are believed to connect the lower and upper solar atmosphere and hence could have profound contribution to mass and energy transfer. The understanding of these transients and their unification are essential in understanding the fundamentals of the solar atmosphere. The speaker will concentrate on such brightenings observed at EUV (Transition region) and X-ray (Corona) temperatures and discuss the physical mechanisms responsible for these brightenings, their fine structure and dynamics, their association with the photospheric magnetic carpet, their interrelationships and their importance in the coronal heating and solar wind acceleration.
