Lensing and cosmology with the Dark Energy Survey

The Dark Energy Survey released its cosmological results from the Year 3 dataset last month. These are based on analysis of weak gravitational lensing and galaxy clustering data over about 5000 square degrees. Two distinct approaches were used to measure the key cosmological parameters, S8 and Omega_matter in particular. I will summarize these results and show the state of tensions between the early universe probed by the CMB and the late universe probed by DES. I will also discuss questions raised by our analysis on the interplay of galaxy selection and cosmology.
