1. The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, reserves the right to withdraw any advertised position(s) at any time without giving any reason.
2. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate to be called for an interview. IUCAA will apply its own criteria for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview. Applicants having higher qualification and merit may be given preference.
3. (i) Application after the last date, (ii) incomplete in any respect and (iii) any fresh document(s) / enclosures after closing date, shall not be considered.
4. Certificate in support of experience should be in proper format i.e. it should be on the organization/employer/firm/company letter head, bear the date of issue, specify period of work (in DD/MM/YYYY format), name, designation and signature of the Administrative Authority/Owner of the   said entity, along with his/her seal.
5. The Institute may verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate before the interview/at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is found that the documents submitted by the candidate are fake or the candidate has doubtful antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her services shall be liable to be terminated. IUCAA shall be the sole judge in such cases.
6. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of the appointment letter, IUCAA reserves the right to modify/ withdraw/ cancel any communication made to the candidates.
7. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the Director, IUCAA shall be final.
8. Applicants who are in Government employment should route their applications through proper channel and attach NOC at the time of applying.
9. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they fulfil the minimum qualifying criteria as mentioned in the advertisement.
10. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding internet issues, postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview, etc.
11. SC, ST and OBC certificate (wherever applicable) issued by Government of India format should be uploaded in the online form if the applicant is applying under any of these categories. OBC candidates should submit a valid copy of the Non-creamy Layer certificate issued by the competent authority in the Government of India format. The OBC Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in GOI format should be preferably for the current financial year on the date of closing of application or utmost not earlier than one year from the date of closing of application.
12. Uploading of all documents asked for is MANDATORY and these must be uploaded at appropriate places as shown in the online form. Any application not confirming to this requirement shall be summarily rejected.
13. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
14. No interim correspondence shall be entertained.
15. IUCAA reserves the right to apply any criteria in order to place a reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for test/interview.

18. All permanent posts are covered by GPF / New Pension Scheme (NPS) of Govt. of India (as applicable) and the incumbent will be eligible for other benefits like Medical, Leave Travel Concession, Tuition Free reimbursement, etc. as per the Government / IUCAA norms.
19. The prescribed date for determining the upper age limit, educational qualifications and / or experience shall be the last date for submitting online applications.
